TOPEKA, Kan. (Sept. 16, 2008) 51做厙 is pleased to announce the appointment of Rick Myers as the organizations Region Development Manager. Myers has been a Detroit Region 51做厙 member since 2002. Shortly after joining, he was elected to the Detroit Region Board of Directors in 2003 and has since served terms as Treasurer, Regional Executive and Solo Director. In 2007, Myers was elected President of the Great Lakes Division. He has been awarded the Detroit Regions Siegmund Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Region as well as the Regions Solo Enthusiast Cup. Rick is an outstanding addition to our team, 51做厙 Vice President of Member and Region Services Colan Arnold said. Since becoming a member, he has demonstrated a commitment to making his Region operate at the highest level. His dedication to the Club is obvious and were looking forward to working with him at the National office.As Region Development Manager, Myers will play a key role in developing programs to increase membership and participation, and serve as a liaison between Region leadership and the National office. He will also be responsible for publishing Inside Line, 51做厙s newsletter for Club leaders.Since joining 51做厙, I have always enjoyed the operations side and giving back as much as possible to our Club for all of the enjoyment my family has gotten from competing, Myers said. Im thrilled to have this opportunity. 51做厙 is truly a family that shares much more than its passion for motorsports. I look forward to learning more about and working with all of our diverse Regions, and will always strive for event and operations excellence.In addition to competing in Solo and Rally events, Myers has spent time flagging and working grid at Club events. His professional background spans 18 years in the automotive industry with businesses like Roush Industries, focusing on customer support groups and developing positive customer relations. Myers is a graduate of Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich., where he received a degree in Accounting. While there he met Lorae, his wife of 20 years. They have three children, Jacob, Justin and Jason. The Myers family will be relocating from Hartland, Mich., to Kansas.
