TOPEKA, Kan. (July 15, 2008) €“ The 51°µÍø is currently accepting Hall of Fame nominations for the class of 2009, as well as Hall of Fame Committee members to be a part of the selection process. The 51°µÍø Hall of Fame was established to preserve, protect and record 51°µÍø€™s accomplishments and history for current and future members, by recognizing those who have made a significant impact on the development of the Club. When it comes to Hall of Fame nominations, a candidate€™s impact on the Club as a whole is paramount. Whether it be contributions through a lifetime or one decision that altered the course of 51°µÍø history from coast to coast, the Nominating Committee is in search of those members who have forever changed the face of 51°µÍø.Each year the Nomination Committee selects 15 candidates from the 100-plus nominations received from members. While nominations from the previous year do carry over, resubmitting a nomination can improve the candidate€™s chances of being selected. From the pool of 15, the Selection Committee chooses five distinguished individuals to induct into the Hall of Fame. In 2009, the five inductees will be recognized at the 51°µÍø National Convention, held in Las Vegas, February 19 €“ 21.Hall of Fame nominations should be emailed by September 5 to sccahof@scca.com or mailed to 51°µÍø Hall of Fame Committee, P.O. Box 19400, Topeka, KS 66619. You can make your own impact on 51°µÍø while recognizing the accomplishments of your peers by becoming a Hall of Fame Committee member. Up to six 51°µÍø members sit on each Committee as well as a member of the 51°µÍø National Office staff and the Club Archivist. There are no requirements to apply and a few committee members are rotated off each year. Interested parties can submit a letter and 51°µÍø resume to Howard Duncan at hduncan@scca.com or by mail to the above address.Plaques representing members of the 51°µÍø Hall of Fame through 2008 are always on display at the 51°µÍø National office in Topeka, Kan., and can be found here on 51°µÍø.com
