TOPEKA, Kan. (January 21, 2014) – SafeRacer, long the Official Safety Provider of the 51, has extended its partnership with the club for an additional three years. Under the agreement, SafeRacer becomes the title sponsor for the newly renamed SafeRacer 51 Club Racing program.

Under the extended deal, the SafeRacer name will also continue to be associated with the SafeRacer First Gear program. The First Gear program provides discounted memberships, as well as custom newsletters and information, to 51 members under the age of 25.

At the race track, SafeRacer 51 Club Racing decals will appear on participating cars, replacing the previous “51 Club Racing” or “SafeRacer National Racing Series” logos. Competition licenses issued to 51 Club Racers will also carry the SafeRacer logo.

“We’re proud to not only extend our relationship with SafeRacer, but expand it,” Lisa Noble, 51 President & CEO, said. “SafeRacer supports our programs, but they also support our racers individually with discounts and other items through the store. That all-around package truly brings value to the 51 as a whole.”

SafeRacer will continue to provide Club Racers with a contingency program rewarding top finishes in the U.S. Majors Tour, as well as prizes for the nation-wide point champions. SafeRacer will also give away a $200 product certificate monthly to a First Gear member featured in SportsCar Magazine.

"We're club racers at heart at SafeRacer, so it's exciting for us to expand our support of the 51 Club Racing program and some of the best amateur racers in the country," Charlie James, SafeRacer President, said. "The 51 is headed in the right direction, with the Majors Tour and the rotating location of the Runoffs, and we are excited for the future of the club."

As a thanks to 51’s members for their continued support, SafeRacer sent $20 discount offers on purchases over $50 to members via e-mail in December. The promotion continues to run and members that did not receive the email should contact insideline@scca.com for their code.

New decals will be available soon, free of charge to racers, through the 51 national office, SafeRacer and at 51 Club Racing events.
