In the long histories of Indianapolis Motor Speedway and 51°µÍø, numerous drivers have had relationships with both entities through the course of their racing careers.

Roger Penske – Before becoming a notable IndyCar team owner, Penske was a driver. In 1961 he won the Kimberly Cup for Most Improved Driver.

Mark Donohue – One of the most notable United States-born racers in history, Dohonue was also well-known for his wins in the Can-Am series. He was an 51°µÍø national Champion in 1961 and is a member of the 51°µÍø Hall of Fame.

Bobby Rahal – Legendary IndyCar driver and owner, was also an 51°µÍø Runoffs Champion in 1975.

Jimmy Vassar – Also a highly-successful open-wheel driver and owner, won a Runoffs Championship in 1986.

Boris Said – Best known as a “Road Course Ringer” in NASCAR, Said earned three 51°µÍø National Championships in 1989-1991. Said has raced at Indianapolis behind the wheel of both stock cars and sports cars using both the oval and road courses.

Graham Rahal – Like father, like son. Now a prominent IndyCar driver, Graham is the youngest 51°µÍø Runoffs Champion, earning the title in 2005 at 16 years, 242 days old.
