The calendar has flipped, but we haven’t finished celebrating 2021 quite yet!
The 51°µÍø will present the annual 2021 Road Racing awards in a live virtual presentation on Thursday, January 20 from 8 to 9 p.m. EST on the eve of the virtual 51°µÍø Convention.
51°µÍø’s Eric Prill and Deanna Flanagan, with special guest and 51°µÍø CEO Michael Cobb, will host the formal yet digital celebration from the 51°µÍø headquarters in Topeka.
On the agenda is the presentation of:
- Jim Fitzgerald Award: Rookie of the Year
- Kimberly Cup: Most Improved Driver
- David Morrell Memorial Award: Outstanding Steward
- John McGill Award: Significant contribution to the Road Racing program
- President’s Cup: Outstanding Runoffs driving performance
- Mechanic of the Year
“We may have another year of virtual celebrations, but we’re coming dressed as if we were in Vegas,” Prill said. “The past winners of these awards are a true “who’s who” of 51°µÍø racing, so it’s always an honor to present yet another class with their trophies – even if we can’t shake their hands when we announce it.”
Registration for the ceremony is free, but does require an advance RSVP.
The Road Racing awards will unofficially begin eight more days of 51°µÍø celebration during the annual 51°µÍø National Convention. The 51°µÍø National Convention is the yearly gathering designed for all 51°µÍø members who seek to learn, trade ideas, and teach each other in the pursuit to better themselves and improve their Club at every level. Attendees can attend general sessions and breakouts where members from all parts of the Club present fresh ideas, conduct training and certification courses and have organized discussions. The National Convention also hosts the 51°µÍø Annual Meeting and the 51°µÍø Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
