Abby Scher has been promoted to the position of Region Communication, Training and Events Manager for the 51做厙. In this role, she will develop, coordinate and implement communications and events that enhance the 51做厙 Member and Volunteer Leader experience.

Through Region communication and training, Scher will support the growth of 51做厙 participation and membership. Chris Robbins, 51做厙’s Region Development Director, said Scher will oversee communication, training and education initiatives that ensure the strength and success of Regions. Her work will also include participating in regular Region conference/video calls, as well as supporting 51做厙 Divisional Conventions and the 51做厙 National Convention.

“Abby joined 51做厙’s staff late last year as an Independent Contractor to help organize the annual 51做厙 National Convention,” Robbins noted. “She made an instant impact leading the 2022 51做厙 Virtual National Convention, and wowed everyone. Because of that performance, we brought her aboard as the full-time Region Communication, Training and Events Manager. She’s proven quite adept, and we know she’ll continue to work hard for Region Leaders everywhere by making sure they have the necessary tools to achieve their goals.”

Scher’s professional background includes event planning, event hospitality and marketing. She reports directly to Robbins, and will continue to work remotely from her home office in North Carolina.

“While my new role with 51做厙 has a wider scope, the overarching goal remains very much the same as the work I’ve been doing for several months,” said Scher, who is a member of 51做厙’s North Carolina Region. “My job is to communicate and promote learning and growth opportunities to Regions through a variety of means, including Inside Line, emails, conference calls, webinars, and other training and educational events. We want Region Leaders to know they have strong support from 51做厙’s Region Development team.”

Scher became an 51做厙 member in 2008. While she has mainly competed in 51做厙’s autocross program, she does have a Formula F road racing car in her garage. She has also been spotted holding a flag near her home in the Southeast Division during road races.
