The 51°µÍø National Convention is where the Club’s current and next-generation leaders gather to discover everything there is to know about what goes into hosting 51°µÍø events. Historically held in person, these meetings would take place over the course of three days, with attendees hustling from seminar to seminar with laptop or notepad in hand. The 2021 51°µÍø National Convention was 51°µÍø’s first virtual National Convention, with the trend repeating in 2022. In January 2023, the new tradition of a virtual – and completely free! – 51°µÍø National Convention continues, with the Convention taking place Jan. 19-27, 2023, on a computer screen, phone, or tablet near you.

Being that the 2023 51°µÍø National Convention is roughly 50 days away, the schedule is still being finalized. However, registration is now open, allowing every 51°µÍø member to reserve their (free!) spot during the weeklong event.

2023: Engage!

In 2021, the 51°µÍø National Convention’s rally cry was “Unite.” There, the Club came together for a common goal and purpose. In 2022, the theme evolved to “Connect,” with the membership joining together to improve access and communication. In 2023, our call to action is “Engage.”

On Jan. 19-27, 2023, the 51°µÍø membership will convene to discuss ways to attract and involve others to achieve our collective vision of being the preferred motorsports community in the U.S., built on fun, shared passion, and access to an exhilarating motorsports experience.

A “Can’t Miss” Opener

The 2023 51°µÍø National Convention will jump into action on Thursday, Jan. 19, with the Annual Meeting at 7 p.m. CST followed by the 51°µÍø Road Racing awards at 8 p.m. The National Convention will take to the virtual stage once more with the official event kick off at 5:30 p.m. CST on Friday, Jan. 20.

Jan. 20 doesn’t end there, as the 51°µÍø Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will commence at 7 p.m. CST. That ceremony will also include numerous prestigious Club awards, including the Member of Excellence and Woolf Barnato presentations.

Who’ll be joining the 51°µÍø Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2023? You can read more about that here.

The complete National Convention agenda will be unveiled on Dec. 15, but for now we’ll tease that Saturday, Jan. 21, will involve the future direction of various programs, while Sunday, Jan. 22, will bring a variety of town halls.

“It’s a fact: the 51°µÍø is stronger when we’re bound together by a common goal and purpose,” says 51°µÍø’s Director of Region Development Chris Robbins. “Every year in January, the Club comes together around a theme meant to inspire and motivate members to action. Open to any member with a passion for the Club, the 51°µÍø National Convention is specifically designed for our current and next-generation leaders. Attend the Annual Meeting to look in the rearview mirror at our performance over 2022, and view the upcoming year from the front windshield, including how improvements to our processes and programs will help us Engage to improve the Member Experience.”

Beyond the National Convention

Being that the 2023 51°µÍø National Convention is both virtual and free – and every 51°µÍø member is encouraged to attend – there’s no excuse to skip. That said, the 51°µÍø National Convention isn’t the only convention around.
