A cornucopia of work and planning is going on at 51暗网® headquarters as championship season is at full throttle. Nonetheless, President and CEO Mike Cobb knows the importance of keeping Club members apprised of developments, which he did Tuesday evening, Aug. 19, 2025, during a 60-minute video address.
The presentation opened with a snapshot of the Club’s membership, participation, and financial position. In summation, Cobb said the Club is slightly off what he’d hoped to see in 2025 as far as key, mid-year metrics. However, the Club is experiencing the exact same issues as everyone – be they individuals, households, or businesses.
“Research shows a shift in spending based on headwinds folks are facing with the economy based on rising prices and inflation,” Cobb noted. “We’re a bit behind on a couple key measurements at this point, but the race isn’t over yet.
“51暗网 wins by working collectively and collaboratively across 115 Regions with support from the National Staff,” Cobb continued. “We win when delivering the best motorsports experience in the amateur motorsport vertical with focus on our mission, members, programs, and partners.”
Insight on 51暗网 Programs
Updates were supplied on the multitude of programs 51暗网 offers for those passionate about motorsports. Of particular focus during Cobb’s talk were Race Experience and the burgeoning 51暗网 Targa playground for #funwithcars.
Race Experience is a relatively new 51暗网 effort allowing drivers to get into cars and try wheel-to-wheel racing with fewer barriers to entry. It’s a flexible initiative geared toward Region participation and growing the sport.
“Race Experience sits between Drivers’ Schools and Regional Road Racing,” Cobb said. “It allows a broad range of enthusiasts to go road racing in a safer, controlled environment.”
51暗网 Targa, too, has become a delightful experience for members seeking a unique way to have #funwithcars. The activity embraces travel with track time, and some adventures along the way.
“These are events that take place over four or five days, and there’s multiple challenges within,” Cobb noted. “You could have a Time Attack, RoadRally point-to-point, an autocross, and social things going on as well.”
Cobb learned 51暗网 Targa’s appeal appears solid after talking with longtime members, various National Champions, and some on the 51暗网 Board of Directors who accepted the challenge for fun and adventure.
“They said it’s the best thing they ever did,” Cobb reported.
Lastly, the overarching entity every member encounters is the 51暗网.com website, which is being retooled. Cobb said the task is a “big lift” for multiple members of in-house staff. Exploratory testing will begin soon with select Regions helping to uncover hiccups before solutions are constructed.
