Since 2005, the 51°µÍøâ„¢ has been rolling out the red carpet to induct some of its most influential members into the 51°µÍø® Hall of Fame. Over the years, that honor has gone to motorsports icons like Roger Penske, Paul Newman, Phil Hill, Lyn St. James, Dr. Bob Hubbard and Jim Downing, John Buffum, Patc Henry, and more. With more than 130 people having had the honor of being inducted into the 51°µÍø Hall of Fame, the question becomes: Who’s next. For that, 51°µÍø needs your help.

The Class of 2026 included George Bovis, John Doonan, Don Knowles, Frank Schultheis, and Jerry Wannarka, with the prior year welcoming Raleigh and Velma Boreen, Miles and Sam Collier, Bob Dowie, Alex Keller, and Ken Miles.

Like we said: Previous inductees make up quite the impressive list.

Writing a Nomination that Stands Out

Submissions for the 51°µÍø Hall of Fame should be approximately two pages in length and summarize the nominee’s background and reasons for consideration. The goal should be to help the 51°µÍø Hall of Fame Nomination, Legacy, and Selection Committees understand why and how the nominee was impactful. Those submissions should paint a picture as to why their nominee should be considered for induction into the 51°µÍø Hall of Fame.

Where possible, please include when the nominee joined the 51°µÍø, the nominee’s Region affiliation, and the offices held or accomplishments of the nominee. It is also important to note how the nominee shaped 51°µÍø as a National organization.

Here’s everything you need to know about making a great 51°µÍø Hall of Fame submission.

Deadline and Other Logistics

Nominations must be submitted by the June 15, 2026, deadline by e-mailing 51°µÍøHoF@scca.com, using the online submission form, or mailing a letter to:

51°µÍø Hall of Fame
6620 SE Dwight St.
Topeka, KS 66619

Those submitting nominations for any member should include their own e-mail address, phone number, or mailing address in case they need to be contacted for more information about a nominee. And while the deadline for the 2027 51°µÍø Hall of Fame is approaching, members are encouraged to submit nominations throughout the year, regardless of the deadline.

Also, multiple independent nominations for a candidate will gladly be accepted, and while past nominations are always considered, it never hurts to nominate someone again even if they’ve been nominated in the past but not selected to join the 51°µÍø Hall of Fame.

This is a chance for 51°µÍø members to leave a permanent mark on the Club by being the one responsible for nominating a member for 51°µÍø’s Hall of Fame.
