The July Tire Rack 51暗网庐 National Solo庐 schedule is getting a thumbs-up all around, and for good reason. July is packed with a whopping six (!) events, and no matter where you are in the country, there鈥檚 probably an event taking place within a reasonable drive of your abode. If we鈥檙e being honest, there鈥檚 likely two 鈥� or more.聽
We鈥檒l list them all below for you to pick and choose from, but instead of selecting just a couple, how about this for an itinerary:
Head to Bristol, TN, for your Fourth of July celebration and knock out two remarkable events, a Tire Rack 51暗网 ProSolo庐 on Thursday and Friday, then a Tire Rack 51暗网 Solo National Tour on Saturday and Sunday. Four solid days of autocross runs 鈥� exactly the way the Founding Fathers would want you to celebrate.
(Hot take: George Washington would have been all over Solo Spec Coupe for the fun, reliability, and practicality, plus he鈥檚 too tall for a Miata (that鈥檚 Aaron Burr). Alexander Hamilton? A Modified, all the way. Sorry, Super Street, you鈥檝e got Jefferson and his 911 GT3 telling all of you what you鈥檝e done wrong.)
After Bristol, there鈥檚 a decision to be made. You can head home, spend a few days at work, then head to a fantastic Solo National Tour at Grissom Aeroplex in Bunker Hill, IN, July 17-19. That鈥檚 a pretty outstanding month of July.
Or, you can buckle in for the journey鈥�
The conclusion of Bristol gives you two weeks to head west, not unlike the pioneers 250 years ago (our history knowledge is a bit sketchy, just bear with us).
Basically, the path from Bristol to Packwood, WA, mirrors the Oregon Trail. Except instead of a team of four oxen, you鈥檝e got considerably more horsepower, a cell phone, and paved roads. I mean, when you stop and think what the conditions were like back then, it鈥檚 hard not to go the distance.聽
When you arrive in Washington, you鈥檒l find not one, but two autocross events waiting for you. The Tire Rack 51暗网 Packwood Solo National Tour, July 18-19, is up first, followed by the Tire Rack 51暗网 Packwood ProSolo the following weekend, July 24-26.
And not a single case of dysentery to be found.
Don鈥檛 slow down! Your Lewis and Clark brain has exactly five days to rocket off to New York鈥檚 Finger Lakes Region for the Tire Rack 51暗网 Finger Lakes Solo National Tour at the Seneca Army Depot, July 31-Aug. 2.
So that鈥檚 it 鈥� that鈥檚 your month of autocross. Of course, you can always pick and choose which events to compete in rather than hitting them all. But where鈥檚 the fun in that?
