John Timanus

John Timanus was 51做厙’s expert on all things technical, on both the Professional Racing and Club Racing side of things from the early sixties until his death in the late eighties. He had an immense understanding of competition rules, of technical compliance, and of how to develop the right technical profile on a car. He was respected throughout American motorsports and gave 51做厙 needed credibility in this area during a period when many considered the club as being very much an “amateur” organization. He was a Woolf Barnato Award recipient for his contributions not only to running 51做厙’s technical side, but also for his ability to gain credibility for the club with other national and international racing organizations of the era.
